HOW TO CRACK IIT-JEE?

Cracking JEE-MAINS will allow you to appear for JEE-ADVANCED and admission into other prestigious institutions but clearing JEE-MAINS is not a piece of cake for all students. A student has to give his most total for the preparation of the exams. Let’s see the tips and tricks for the preparation and tips for attending questions.

Learn a Lot:

A student should start preparation as early as possible as we have many portions to be covered. Learn each topic with a clear state of mind and clear all doubts and move to the next chapter. Coaching is only a part of success, and it will not take too advanced. You have to work hard to reach your goal—concentrate on all of the three subjects simultaneously. Don’t quickly skip through chapters; take a branch, complete it and move to the next chapter. Don’t take any break in learning; learn continuously and consistently. Learning constantly makes you keep the subject in mind. Listen to the lectures with total concentration and clear doubts instantly. Clearing doubts make the concept clear, and it helps in avoiding confusion. Keep a note on the syllabus of the exam. Clearly understand the pattern of the JEE-MAINS and prepare accordingly.

Revise Repeatedly:

Generally, students are revising too much, or they are not revising at all. Once a chapter has been completed, it much is changed once or twice. Students may also consider solving problems related to the chapter as it is the most effective way of revising. Periodical revision of all the chapters from all the subjects is helpful, as not doing the above may result in forgetting the chapter. On completion of a chapter, revise it and then move to the next chapter. When the next chapter is completed, revise the current chapter with the previous chapter. Take an hour for revision for each subject. Revise only in that time and concentrate on learning new topics at other times. Make the clues for topics creative and innovative so that you can easily remember. Students can also use mnemonics and mind maps for effective remembering.

Periodic Tests:

Writing tests at regular intervals will improve problem-solving skills and will make it easier to find where you are lacking and where you have to improve. After revising a chapter, writing a mock test is advisable, and complete the chapter strong in your mind. Get sample papers and previous year question papers and solve them. It gives you a clear idea of how the question paper will be and the weightage of each paper. Solving a mock paper will provide you with a view on time management. You should also have the timer turned on while translating your documents which will improve your time efficiency. Never get tired of solving mock papers or previous year’s papers because it will help you clear the MAINS. While solving the papers, you have to analyze the questions or chapters on which you are facing troubles or difficulties; it gives you an idea of improvement areas.

Reference books:

Going through NCERT books is the first and foremost thing for clearing MAINS. Most of the questions are from the NCERT syllabus. Students must also use reference books for clear understanding.

  • Physics:

Physics has mostly concept-based questions, which have both problem-based and theory-based questions. The problem solving is a little more complicated, while the theory-based questions are more manageable. The following books give a clear idea of all the concepts, and they are worth considering for reference.

  • The book CONCEPTS OF PHYSICS (vol 1 and 2) by H.C VERMA will be best for quality problems on all topics.
